Hit and Run Driver Found Following Taylorsville Car Accident

Misty Ostrander caught a rare break in her hit-and-run accident in Taylorsville. According to KSL News, Ostrander and her friend Jordyn Sommer were driving down 5400 South near 2200 West in Taylorsville, Utah, on March 30, 2009, when they were suddenly hit from behind. Sommer recalls not knowing exactly what had happened, just hearing the noise. After the initial shock from the car crash, they looked behind them to see the man who had hit them.

“I remember walking towards him to see if he was OK, and I could tell he was in there, and he was laying there, and then he looked around and floored it,” Ostrander said. Still noticeable shaken up from the accident, neither Ostrander or Sommer was able to get the license plate number before the man fled. In a fortunate break, Ostrander’s father noticed that the hit-and-run driver’s license plate number was imprinted on her bumper!

The owner of the car has since been located, but charges have yet to be filed because police want to find out who was driving the vehicle the night of the accident.
