<description>Hi - Sophie was a student in my English class; she was a very fit, very active teen. Did you ever hear about the results of the autopsy?
On the legal side of this issue: I have no idea if any legal avenues were persued in this case, but is there a liability issue with the counselors having no apparent CPR or First Aid training? Were there releases signed by the participants, and does the fact that Sophie&#039;s mother was there beside her at the camp lessen the liability on the part of the camp/Church? I would think that any venue where children participate in strenuous, outdoor activity would be held to the minimum standards of counselors who are trained in CPR and First Aid.
What would your advice be to the church/camp about liability? Would a place like that be covered with liability insurance? Do you have an outcome for this tragic case?
Thanks
